Principal Investigator: Tahira Alves, MD, MPH
Dr. Tahira Alves is a board-certified nephrologist and experienced Principal Investigator with a background spanning clinical care, academic medicine, and clinical research. Her research experience includes dialysis, chronic kidney disease, renal genetics, rare disease, cardiovascular medicine, weight loss, hypertension, diabetes, women’s health, liver disease, consumer products and vaccines.
A member of the San Antonio medical community since 2009, Dr. Alves worked in private-practice nephrology for 14 years and served as medical director of several dialysis units. She brings extensive clinical expertise, strong community ties, and a commitment to advancing high-quality research and patient care at Trialmed San Antonio.
