About study
Type 2 diabetes and excess weight often occur together and can increase the risk of serious health conditions, including heart disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. While healthy eating, physical activity, and currently available medications can help manage these conditions, researchers continue to study new treatment options that may provide additional benefits.
This Phase 3 clinical research study is evaluating an investigational oral GLP-1 medication. Unlike many GLP-1 medications that are given by injection, the study medication is taken by mouth once each day.
Researchers will evaluate the study medication alongside healthy lifestyle changes to better understand its safety and effectiveness. The study will also examine changes in body weight, blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and overall metabolic health.
Qualified participants receive study-related care at no cost and may receive compensation for time and travel.
Participation is voluntary, and you may leave the study at any time.

What are the benefits?
Advance potential treatment options
Every clinical research trial is aimed at getting new therapies to those in need. Some may have immediate results for participants while other are helping shape the future landscape of medicine.
No-cost Healthcare
Clinical trials offer a baseline of health assessments at no-cost to study participants. Many studies offer additional assessments and data that are above the standard of care that you would typically receive from your doctor.
Compensation for participation
Many clinical trials offer financial compensation for participation to help cover the cost of associated time, travel and inconvenience.
Improving the lives of yourself and others
Lack of participation in the research phase is a leading cause in delay of effective treatments to the public. No matter the benefit to you, your participation in a clinical trial is key to getting new therapies to the world.
